Hyderabad: After repeatedly holding the Narendra-Modi led government over shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in the country, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday traded barbs at the Centre, holding it responsible for ceding "thousands of kilometres of India's territory to China".
"Mr Modi and his minions have ceded thousands of km of Indian land to China. When exactly are we getting it back?" Gandhi sought to know. He also attached a screenshot of a news article that claimed that the 12th round of military talks between India and China ended without a breakthrough.

The 12th round of Corps Commander level talks between the two neighbours concluded on Saturday evening in Moldo, on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Army sources said. India pressed for an early disengagement of troops and weapons in Hot Springs, Gogra, and other remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh during the nine-hour-long talks, sources in the security establishment said. It is learned that both sides discussed "specific details to cool tempers in the remaining friction points including moving ahead with the disengagement process and agreed to jointly maintain stability on the ground". The talks started at 10:30 am and ended at 7:30 pm. There was, however, no official comment on the outcome of the meeting.
Following a series of intense negotiations and discussions, India and China have already disengaged from the banks of Pangong lake. The areas -- Gogra Heights and Hot Springs -- that led to escalated tensions between the two sides last year, are yet to be resolved. As many as 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in the Galwan Valley clashes last year, according to the Indian government. The Chinese goverment hasn't disclosed the casualty it suffered.
