IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu for three days from December

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu's shoreline and the adjoining Union Territory of Puducherry from December 1 to 3. A projected formation of a fresh low-pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 29  has been cited by the IMD.

According to IMD, enhanced rainfall activity could be expected over South Peninsular India from December 1 to 3.

"It is very likely to move westwards and reach Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts on  December 2, 2020," IMD said in a tweet.

"Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on December 2 and 3," it added on Twitter.
