IMF's Gita Gopinath tweets Bachchan's KBC video

The Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund, Gita Gopinath, shared video of Amitabh Bachchan mentioning her during Kaun Banega Crorepati, television show. "Her face is so beautiful that no one can relate her to the economy, "said Bachchan. It seemed "sexist" to netizens.

New Delhi: Storming the social media, Gita Gopinath, the Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund, tweeted a " special" video from the famous Kaun Banega Crorepati television show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

During a query, the actor mentioned about Gopinath, which has elated the Chief Economist. "The economist seen in this image has been the chief economist of which organisation since 2019," said Bachchan.

Further, he said, "Her face is so beautiful that no one can relate her to the economy."

Gopinath said that the video was special to her as she adored the actor and she addressed him as the "Greatest of All Time".Bachchan also replied that it was said with "utmost earnestness".

However, Bachchan's statement has irked many netizens as they claim it to be sexist.

Gopinath is the first woman to head the top post in IMF as chief economist in 2019. She succeeds former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan as an Indian to hold the position.
