According to the sources, the committee also discussed the idea of roping NGOs, civil society, and various intellectuals for raising these issues. When asked about the matter, Digvijay Singh said, "Our struggle is about ideology, not one person. Congress ideology is to unite and our fight is against the ideology which divides the country. Civil society and political parties who support us are welcome."

Interestingly, a member of the panel, Udit Raj, made a proposal during the meeting in which he said that Rahul Gandhi should be made party president again as it is important to counter the "cult" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also stressed the need to bring back Dalits into the party and also to reach all caste-based NGOs.
