Aizawl: The recent bloody border clash between Assam and Mizoram has left its severe impact on several important sectors of both the states. National Highway 306 which is known as the lifeline of Mizoram wore a deserted look with trucks and goods vehicles carrying essential items were left stranded on the Assam side. ETV Bharat landed in Mizoram's Aizwal on Monday to report the ground reality through its camera.

Thousands of trucks carrying essential items ride through the National Highway 306 which is wearing a deserted look these days. An unannounced economic blockade imposed by several organisations in Assam has also affected Mizoram's fight against Covid-19. As trucks carrying more than two lakh antigen test kits have been stranded at Silchar. Notably, Mizoram is one of the states in the Northeast that has been witnessing a severe spike in coronavirus cases.

Aware of the fact, the Mizoram government has communicated with Assam so that urgent steps are taken to withdraw the blockade. Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa and Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga have resolved to maintain peace and arrive at an amicable solution on the border row.
