22 members of Prashant Kishore's I-PAC team held in Tripura

Agartala: As many as 22 members of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), the political advisory company run by poll strategist Prashant Kishor, have been detained from a private hotel here in Agartala. Police sources said, these people were carrying out some unauthorised surveys in the state and had recorded statements of some people using fake identities.

Speaking on the issue, the East Agartala Police Station officer-in-charge Saroj Bhattacharya said that they were detained and now they would be interrogated. "During a routine search in the hotel, we found them. They had been kept under detention for the whole Sunday night. Now our teams will interrogate them", said the police officer.

Meanwhile, TMC sources claimed, news of the detention has already reached the Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee, Party General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and I-PAC chief Prashant Kishor. Police said they were involved in some sort of suspicious activity.

Sources from the police also informed that the number of the members from the I-PAC team is likely to be above 50 and they have spread across the state to survey and meet people from different parts of the state.
