Tirupati:In a significant development, Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Hospital in the temple town of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh has come up with a unique limb facility of bionic arms. It is the first of its kind in the country and meant to create significant changes in the lives of many differently-abled people.
While this arm costs around a whopping Rs 30 lakhs in other countries, the hospital management claims that they have produced it at a low cost of Rs 2.75 lakhs only.
The hospital management said that the bionic arm would surely offer a new lease of life to many differently able persons. They would be able to avail it at Rs 2.75 lakhs while it would amount to Rs 30 lakhs abroad.
