New Delhi: Amid the rising tension between India and Pakistan on the western border, the Pakistan Army has made several unsuccessful attempts to intrude into the Indian territory along Gujarat and Rajasthan border areas through drones.

Post Balakot airstrike on February 26, security forces have shot down four Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at Gujarat's Kutch, Sriganganagar and Bikaner in Rajasthan.

It is learnt that the Pakistan army will continue to deploy drones for aerial surveys into the Indian territory.

According to a sourcein the Defence Ministry said, “Such activities by the Pakistani army can be seen as aerial recce about the Indian military installations near the international boundary.”

He added: “Since our defence establishments are much away from the border. We easily detect and shoot the drones. We are strictly monitoring any airspace violation by our enemy. This was the reason we have brought down four of their drones in last 15 days.”

Recently, Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat had paid visit to international boundary in Rajasthan and Line of Control (LoC) areas in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to review operational preparedness of the forces.
