'Starving' Nigerian man dies in Ghaziabad

Michael Amenike Maduke was living secretly in Nandgram at the home of an acquaintance. He fell ill and stopped taking food before he was rushed to a hospital in Delhi.

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh): A Nigerian man, identified as Michael Amenike Maduke, who was living secretly in Nandgram area in Ghaziabad has died in a Delhi hospital. Reports said he had not eaten for several days.

Police said the Nigerian High Commission has been informed about the man's death. Officer Nipun Aggarwal said that so far no FIR has been registered in the case. He also ruled out anything suspicious in the death of the man. Reports said Maduke was living secretly at the house of an acquaintance and the person who had taken the house on rent did not inform the landlord. Reports said he was ill for several days and he was depressed and did not have money. The man also stopped taking food, reports added.
