Ratangarh: In a tragic incident, eight people were killed and many others were injured on Thursday morning after a fatal collision between a van and a private bus near Ratangarh in Churu district of Rajasthan.
The bus was on their way to Bikaner when the incident occurred on N-11 between Rajaldesar and Parasneu villages around 9 am.
According to reports, the mishap took place due to overspeeding and low visibility on the road.
According to Churu Police, the van was hit by the bus while the driver was overtaking it.
On receiving information about the same, Churu Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam, Bikaner SP Pradeep Mohan Sharma, District Collector Sandesh Nayak, Bikaner SP, Sujangarh Additional SP Sitaram, Ratangarh DSP Pyarelal Meena, CI Bhupendra Soni also reached the spot and inquired about the incident.
As per reports, the majority of the deceased people were travelling in van hailing from Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Police have informed their families about the accident.
Police further held the bus driver responsible for the accident and said that a case will be filed against him and the owner of the bus.
