Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday has rejected the plea against former Indian Space Research Organisation scientist Nambi Narayanan in the alleged ISRO spy scandal case. Vijayan, the first culprit in the conspiracy case has filed a private petition. The petition was adjourned on the observation that if there was any evidence against Nambi Narayanan, it should be produced before the investigating agency. The order was issued by Rekha. R, Chief Judicial Magistrate of Thiruvananthapuram.

The main accusation is that a land deal was taken place between Nambi Narayanan and Anjali Srivastava, the wife of South Zone IG Raman Srivastava. Vijayan had argued in the court that the land transaction took place in 2004 in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. According to the petition, Nambi Narayanan influenced Kerala Police, IB and CBI officials during the probe.

Meanwhile, the Additional solicitor general of India will appear for the ISRO conspiracy case, CBI mentioned. The case was pinned up by the principal sessions court, Thiruvananthapuram. On top of it, the recent remark of the Supreme Court on the Jain Committee report is going to increase the pressure on CBI. The apex court had also observed that the case should not be taken forward only on the basis of the Jain Committee report and this was only preliminary information.

The court directed the CBI to conduct an independent inquiry into the case and collect necessary evidence. Earlier, the single bench of the high court had granted interim bail to S. Vijayan and Thampi S Durgadutt.
