The Congress, which has won 135 seats and is about to form the government with overwhelming popular support, is facing a problem in the matter of CM selection. Shivakumar has indirectly staked claim for the CM post as he has organised the party in the elections and brought it to power and Siddaramaiah has promised transparent governance if given the opportunity like before.

It is learnt that the Congress party has arrived at an equal power-sharing setup and other state senior leaders from Karnataka were also camping in the national capital to talk the heavy weight duo to take up the party high command's proposal on power sharing.
