Navaratri Brahmotsavam in Tirumala to be held sans devotees

The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanom announced that the Navaratri Brahmotsavam will be held between October 7 and 15 sans pilgrim participation.

Tirupati: Navaratri Brahmotsavam festival at Tirumala temple will be held in low profile like last year in the wake of Covid-19. The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanom announced that the Navaratri Brahmotsavam will be held between October 7 and 15 sans pilgrim participation.

TTD chairman Y.V. Subha Reddy said that the vahana sevas will be held in sampangi prakaram inside the shrine daily during the nine day fete due to Covid restrictions. Utsavas will be conducted at kalyanotsav mandapam.

"The sarvadashan tickets will be issued within one week. There is a delay in the issuance of tickets due to technical problems and it will be solved soon. We will release sarvadashan tickets online as soon as possible," Reddy said. It was also informed that the Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel (SVBC) will live telecast all the events.

About Navaratri Brahmotsavam festival

It is a famous festival conducted every year for the Tirumala Balaji. The temple authority, TTD conducts the festival. The Brahmostsavam is celebrated for nine days and lakhs of pilgrims used to flock the temple during pre-Covid days. During the festival, Lord Venkateswara in the form of Lord Malayappa Swamy is taken on each vahana everyday during procession throughout the Tiru Mada streets.
