Govt should give befitting response to Pak: INC spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi

Talking about the Pulwama terror attack to ETV Bharat, INC spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi said that the nation that dared attack India should be given a befitting response. Alleging the ruling government of incompetence of countering terror attacks, she said that her party will always support any government that will take up anti-terror operations.

New Delhi: National spokesperson of Indian National Congress Priyanka Chaturvedi on Tuesday said that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should give a befitting reply to Pakistan in response to the ghastly Pulwama terror attack. Talking to ETV Bharat, she said the nation that dared attack India, should not be spared.

"Congress party has always said that it will stand in support of the government that will take up anti-terror operations", she said.

"But we also cannot ignore the fact that present union government is incompetent in countering the occurrences of terror attacks. Terror attacks have killed many of our jawans and civilians. Somewhere or the other even our intelligence inputs have failed to serve the purpose," she added.

Chaturvedi alleged that ruling dispensation was elected by the people for their security and safety and it's bovious for the government to be at the centre of all criticism and questions if they fail to addresses people's grievances.

When asked if Congress supports the statement of Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, she said only the statements of party chief be considered as party's opinion.
