അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനായുള്ള പോരാട്ടത്തിനുള്ള ആദരവെന്ന് നൊബേല്‍ പുരസ്‌കാര കമ്മിറ്റി

ഓസ്‌ലോ: ഈ വര്‍ഷത്തെ സമാധാനത്തിനുള്ള നൊബേല്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരം മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്ക്. ഫിലീപ്പീന്‍സ് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകയായ മരിയ റേസ്സ, റഷ്യന്‍ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകന്‍ ദിമിത്രി മുറാതോവ് എന്നിവര്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരം പങ്കിട്ടു. അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനായുള്ള പോരാട്ടമാണ് ഇരുവരേയും പുരസ്‌കാരത്തിന് അര്‍ഹരാക്കിയതെന്ന് നൊബേല്‍ പുരസ്‌കാര സമിതി വിലയിരുത്തി.

നോര്‍വീജിയന്‍ പുരസ്‌കാര കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ അധ്യക്ഷന്‍ ബെറിറ്റ് റെയ്‌സ് ആന്‍ഡേഴ്‌സനാണ് ജേതാക്കളെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. ജനാധിപത്യത്തിനും സുദീര്‍ഘമായ സമാധാനത്തിനും വേണ്ടി അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം സംരക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള ഇരുവരുടേയും ശ്രമങ്ങൾക്കാണ് പുരസ്‌കാരമെന്ന് സമിതി വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ആദര്‍ശത്തിന് വേണ്ടി നിലകൊണ്ട എല്ലാ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടേയും പ്രതിനിധികളാണ് ഇരുവരുമെന്ന് സമിതി വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു.
