Churu (Rajasthan): In what appears to be yet another incident of cruelty towards animals, a camel's foot was found severed in Sardarshahar Tehsil of the desert state, Rajasthan.

According to reports, the camel died while undergoing treatment. The police have registered a case against three people for their alleged involvement in the brutal act.

The villagers had informed the police after they found the severely injured camel staying put with no movement in his limbs. The pictures of the camel, hours before its death, made it to social media with netizens expressing anger and disgust at the episode.

According to the police, a resident of Mehrasar Chachera village informed the police about the camel which was grazing on green pastures. The police believe that 3-4 bike-borne miscreants reportedly attacked the camel with an axe and made an escape. So far, three of the accused have been arrested.

Due to excessive blood loss, the camel died in the agony leading to a widespread protest by villagers.
