28 students at IIT-Jodhpur tested positive for COVID-19

Around 28 students, residing at IIT Jodhpur hostel have tested positive for COVID-19. All these Covid-positive students have been quarantined and made to stay in one of the hostels on the campus.

Jodhpur: As many as 28 students at IIT-Jodhpur have tested positive for Covid-19 over the last week after they joined varsity to attend classes.

All these Covid-positive students have been quarantined and made to stay in one of the hostels on the IIT campus.

"All anti-Covid precautions are being taken. Hostel buildings have been reserved for keeping the students and staff, both academic and non-academic, after the contact-tracing of the positive students," officials said.

"The students are from various states and due to curfew, they are unable to go now. As the students are residing at the hostel for practical sessions, the administration has been taking every possible measure to keep the situation under control," officials added.

Earlier, 52 active cases of Covid were found here and as of now, 152 cases, including academic and non-academic staff have been reported.

Rajasthan on May 9 registered 159 coronavirus deaths and 17,921 cases. According to an official report, 5,50,853 people recovered so far and the number of active cases at present is 2,00,189.
