Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday conducted raids at the residence and office of Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Khatri in connection with the seizure of drugs from a cruise ship.
"The Mumbai zonal unit of the NCB began the searches at Khatri's residence and office in Bandra here this morning," PTI quoted the official.
Khatri's name cropped up during the interrogation of Achit Kumar one of the accused who were earlier arrested in the drugs seizure case.
The operation followed a tip-off on the proposed rave party that was planned aboard a cruise ship bound on a Mumbai-Goa voyage, setting sail from the International Cruise Terminal, Mumbai. The advertisement of the party was reportedly disseminated via social media with the ticket rates at Rs75,000 per person. A total of 18 persons have been arrested in the case, including Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
To avoid detection, the NCB sleuths booked themselves on that cruise as ordinary passengers and they soon found some of their co-passengers consuming drugs. Different drugs like MDMA, ecstasy, cocaine, MD (mephedrone) and charas were recovered from them during the raid.
