Sonia Gandhi will address a poll rally along with her son and party leader Rahul Gandhi Hubli.

Bengaluru: Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be addressing a public meeting in poll bound Karnataka first time in four years. Sources said that Sonia will address a Congress campaign rally along with her son and party leader Rahul Gandhi Hubli on Saturday evening. A Congress spokesman whil confirming Sonia's proposed rally, said in a statement, “Get ready to be a part of this significant event as the Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, shares her vision for a brighter future for Karnataka.

Stay tuned to our social media handles for live updates”. Significantly, today's will be Sonia's first electoral meeting in four years. It can be recalled that Sonia, who is the the Chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party, had last addressed the last electoral public meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli on May 2, 2019.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is also scheduled to attend a public meeting in Hubli. Besides Sonia and Kharge, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to hold two more rallies- one in Yamakanmardi and another in Chikodi in Karnataka's Belagavi district besides a joint rally with his mother Sonia Gandhi in Hubli.

The Gandhi family has been campaigning aggressively for the Congress for the upcoming assembly election. Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been campaigning aggressively in karnataka and both of them have jointly held over 40 public meetings and roadshows in the state. The Congress is seeking to corner the incumbent Basavaraj Bommai led BJP government over issues of corruption, inflation and unemployment.

The Congress has termed the Bommai government “40 percent commission government” to attack the BJP over corruption. The Congress has announced Gruha Jyothi (200 units of free electricity), Gruha Lakshmi- Rs 2,000 monthly to every woman head of the family, Anna Bhagya - 10 kg of food grains of their choice (among rice, ragi, jowar, millet) to every person in a BPL family to woo the voters.
