Bengaluru(Karnataka): Karnataka police have arrested a gang of seven people including two women for honey-trapping and blackmailing some of the prominent software engineers and officers by recording videos of their private moments with the women.
The team used to target employees of the prestigious software companies in Electronic City. The gang used to lure the victims by showing them pictures of beautiful girls and would trap them at places that the gang would choose.
Later, the gang would fix spy cameras in the rooms and record their private moments.
The gang would apparently demand large sums of money from the victims and would threaten them of uploading the videos on various social media platforms.

Sometimes some of the accused would act as officers of the Human Rights Commission, media persons and would rob them of their money and cards.
However, the police got to know of the crime after an unknown software engineer informed about the matter to the Mahadevapura police following which police raided a house and arrested the seven people.
