New Delhi: The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday dismissed a petition challenging the appointment of Jharkhand DGP MV Rao and the removal of his predecessor before the tenure of two years.

The bench was led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde where senior advocate Fali S. Nariman and Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan presented the Government of Jharkhand.

Senior advocate Venkat Raman was on behalf of Prahlad Singh.

CJI Bobde observed that the petitioner Naryana is not engaged in the service and is concerned personally with the matter. "We will not entertain this matter," said CJI.

In the earlier hearing the Apex Court had asked to make former DGP KC Choubey a party in the case and had sought additional documents from the petitioner.
