In the view of a possible terror attack in the Kashmir valley, tensions have been escalated in the area. Mobile internet services have been partially suspended in Kashmir since Sunday night. Additional CRPF troops have also been deployed in Kashmir from Odisha.

Srinagar: Amid prevailing tensions in Jammu and Kashmir following security advisory to Amarnath pilgrims and tourists, National Conference Party (NCP) leader Omar Abdullah on Sunday said he is being placed under "house arrest' from midnight, adding that the process for the same has already started for other mainsteam leaders.

Kashmir valley continued to remain on edge on Sunday after the authorities asked tourists and Amarnath pilgrims to leave the Valley fearing law and order situation.

The order led to panic in Kashmir which has remained tense for the past few days after the Centre ordered deployment of 100 companies of additional troops in the valley.

The deployment of the troops and various orders gave rise to the speculations about some major decision in the offing regarding the Jammu and Kashmir's special status.

Internet will be, reportedly, suspended in the Valley from August 5 to 15


The Indian Army has asked Pakistan to take back the bodies of its Border Action Team (BAT) personnel killed in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on Sunday.


According to sources, the Pakistan Army has been asked to approach the Indian Army by raising white flags and take possession of bodies which are lying on the Indian side of the LoC.
