The traffic police department has also made two significant changes in view of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

"The LED screens will be installed at three locations in Lakhanpur, Nagrota and Kunjwani, which will provide real-time traffic updates on the national highway. "These display screens are being installed for the first time. They will send the real-time situation en route to the holy cave. The condition of the road and weather information will be displayed on the screens 24 hours a day," he added. Normally, people go on pilgrimage on their own, the traffic SSP said, "In such instances, they get struck midway owing to the highway's closure. The LED screen service will be helpful in overcoming the problem."

Furthermore, pilgrims travelling in vehicles will not be checked at every checkpoint. Once a vehicle was inspected and a sticker pasted on it, the four-wheeler will not be stopped for document verification. "Several pilgrims come with complaints that their cars were stopped at various checkpoints by traffic officials for checking documents. So, the documents of the vehicles will be inspected at Lakhanpur. Each vehicle after inspection. a sticker will be pasted on it. This sticker will serve as confirmation that the vehicle owner was carrying all the required documents," Qureshi summed up.
