Shimla: After almost a week of widespread snow and rain, the hills of Himachal Pradesh was sunny but chilly on Saturday, a weather official said, adding that the weather will remain dry till February 25.

"It was a bright and sunny across the state, but temperatures remained below the freezing point in many places," an official of the Meteorological Office here told media. The minimum temperature was 4.7 degrees in Shimla. Snow could be seen in Shimla's nearby destinations like Kufri, Fagu and Narkanda. Keylong, district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, was the coldest in the state at a minimum of minus 8 degrees Celsius.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus 3.6 degrees, while the minimum temperature was minus 2.6 degree in Manali, 2.7 degrees in Dalhousie and 5.2 degrees Celsius in Dharamsala. Meanwhile, the movement on the national highway 5 between Pooh and Karcham in Kinnaur continued to be hampered due to rock falls and snow slides. The GREF, a wing of the Border Roads Organisation, has been deployed to clear the road, officials said.

"It was a bright and sunny across the state, but temperatures remained below the freezing point in many places," an official of the Meteorological Office here told IANS
