After finding a truce formula for Punjab, Congress high command now moves to quell dissent in Chhattisgarh. On Tuesday, the party's former President Rahul Gandhi had a meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and state's Health Minister TS Singh Deo at his residence, here in Delhi.

New Delhi: After finding a truce formula for Punjab, Congress is now concentrating on Chhattisgarh. On Tuesday, the party's former President Rahul Gandhi had a meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and state's Health Minister TS Singh Deo at his residence, here in Delhi. The meeting lasted for almost 3 hours where Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge, PL Punia was also present.

This meeting comes after rumblings in the states party leadership. TS Singh Deo claimed that he had been promised by the party high command of being appointed to the CM post after the completion of Baghel's hald term at the helm. However, when asked about the matter both PL Punia and TS Singh Deo said that no such "political" discussion was held in today's meeting.

Punia also informed that both the leaders will accept whatever decision will be taken by the party high command. However, when asked if Baghel would continue to be at the CM post for the rest of the Government's tenure, Punia refused to comment upon it. Speaking to the media, TS Singh Deo said, "It is all about working for Chhattisgarh. That is our responsibility. We are all together in the Congress party, like a family, which is headed by Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji. There are no differences between us." He further asserted, "In Chhattisgarh, whatever Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji will advise, we will work upon it."

As Baghel's Government completed 2.5 years in the month of June, Deo's supporters pressed upon the demand for rotational change for CM post. According to the sources, TS Singh Deo has made it clear that he will accept whatever decision will be taken by the party high command but if the
status quo will be maintained, then he will also leave his ministerial post.

The rift between the two leaders further widened when last month, TS Singh Deo walked out of the State Assembly after his own party MLA Brihaspati Singh made allegations over him saying that Singh Deo has planned an attack on him for praising CM Bhupesh Baghel, increasing the rift within the Government.
