RRR, which is touted as the most expensive film ever made in the history of Indian cinema is likely to face a roadblock due to coronavirus outbreak. The film headlined by Ram Charan and Jr NTR was likely to hit cinemas on January 8, 2021. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has apparently compelled the makers to relook at release date.

Mumbai: SS Rajamouli's next movie RRR, that marks Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn's debut flick in the Telugu language, is likely to get pushed, reports suggest.

Cinema, OTT and television production the world over have been adversely hit due to coronavirus outbreak and subsequent lockdown. The thriving south Indian film industry is no exception as it is witnessing the postponing of film releases and shooting, with artistes, filmmakers and technicians ensuring caution over commerce.

If the country cannot get back to a real degree of normalcy in the near future combating COVID-19, not only RRR the 2020 release calendar will reportedly go under major reshuffling.

The film narrates a fictitious tale based on the life of Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Produced on an estimated budget of Rs 450 crore.
