Hyderabad: After Pakistani singer Atif Aslam was ousted from Salman Khan's 'Notebook' in the wake of Pulwama terror attack last month, Salman will step into the singer's shoes to hum a romantic number in the film.

According to a newswire, “Many singers were considered, but the makers were not fully convinced whether they would be able to do justice to Main Taare, which is a soft romantic number. During the brainstorming session, Salman's name cropped up as he has previously crooned 'Main Hoon Hero Tera', that had earned much love from listeners. The team thought he would be a good fit. It took some convincing, but Salman has agreed to go behind the mic again."

The grapevine also has it, Salman might fly to Dubai to record the song.

Meanwhile, Zaheer Iqbal, who hails from a non-filmy background, happens to be the first member from his family to set his foot in Bollywood.

Debutant actress Pranutan, who incidentally is the granddaughter of late actress Nutan, was a lawyer by profession but always aspired to be an actor and hence chose it to further her career interests.

Helmed by National Award winning director Nitin Kakkar and produced by Salma Khan, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, ‘Notebook’ is all set to release on March 29.
