Jammu: BJP councilor Rakesh Pandita who was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Wednesday was cremated at Ban Talab cremation ground in Jammu. Local people, leaders of political and social parties attended the funeral.

Pandita was not accompanied by his personal security officers when he was shot in Tral in Pulwama district while visiting a friend.
Police said the incident could have been averted had Pandita followed the security protocols.
