Ghaziabad: There has been a stir in the Loni area of Ghaziabad, New Delhi, after unidentified miscreants opened fire at four members of a family following an alleged robbery attempt. Amongst them, three died on the spot, while the condition of the fourth is said to be critical. According to the information received, unknown miscreants shot four members of a cloth merchant's family at around 3 am on Monday in the Toli locality of the Loni Kotwali area. Police have identified the deceased as Rihasuddin and his two sons, while his wife is in a critically injured state and has been hospitalised.
Rihasuddin, along with his family lives in a two-storey house. On Monday morning, the miscreants who had entered the house via the terrace to loot, opened fire on Rihasuddin's family sleeping on the ground floor. Hearing the sound of gunshots, people living nearby had alerted the police. Though all the injured were rushed to Delhi's Hedgewar hospital for treatment, three of them were declared dead while Rihasuddin's wife was rushed to Noida's Fortis Hospital for treatment. On getting information about the incident, top police officials reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. Even the forensic team of experts and the dog squad reached the spot and collected evidence. An investigation is underway.
