Children of Jadugodha village are forced to sell mangoes during the Covid-19 times to buy mobile phones to continue their education. These kids from economically poor backgrounds are plucking mangoes from the forest and selling them at the roadside.

They are selling mangoes near Roam on Jaduguga to Musabani main road. Ramu Hembram, a school student said that he brings mangoes from the forest and sells them for Rs 30 per kg. Hembram makes around 150 to 200 rupees in a day.

He added that he is unable to continue his studies since he does not have a smartphone. The kids are raising money by selling mangoes for buying mobiles.

"We are poor, there is very little agriculture, which somehow runs the household," said Ramu's father Yashwant Hembram.

He wants to educate his children but due to lock down the schools are closed. While without a smartphone, school education has also stopped for these children. Therefore these children are now forced to sell mangoes at the roadside.
