New Delhi: Maulana Qari Mohammad Usman Mansurpoori, President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) has expressed anger over district administration order banning the sacrifice of cattle (Buffalo) on the occasion of Eidul Adha in different parts of the country and particularly in Uttar Pradesh.

He called it undue interference in the religious rights of the Muslim community as the Qurbani is the essential ritual of Islam.

He also noted that he had received several written reports from different parts of U.P that the police was taking away sacrificial animal by using force. Besides that, the District Administration of Ghazipur, Ghaziabad and Bahraich etc. have banned the sacrifice of the cattle (buffalo).

Maulana Mansurpuri raised the question that by which provision of law, police is enforcing a ban on the cattle sacrifice.

There is anger and disquiet among the members of the minority community against this tyrannical action of the administration. While condemning the police brutality, he demanded immediate withdrawal of these orders ensuring that Muslims perform this religious ritual comfortably.

Maulana Mansurpoori further invoked that guidelines issued by the government with regard to Edul Adha and Qurbani are being followed by the community.

Muslim leaders are also raising awareness in this regard. But the excessive order of the police administration can not be condoned.

Maulana Mansurpoori has also cautioned that if timely action is not taken, then anarchy will prevail in the country and that may lead to serious law and order problem. And for all this, the government of the day shall be responsible.

He has also issued instructions to the cadres and office bearers of JUH across the country to send written information to Jamiat office if they face any hurdle and police excess about the ritual. JUH will take up this issue with concerned government officials to sort it out.
