After Ranthambore National Park's camera captured images of tiger with a wire-like noose around its neck, an alert has been issued in the state. The tiger was tranquillized and the noose has been removed but the regional forest officer has been transferred and put on awaiting posting order.

Sawai Madhopur: Forest officer of Ranthambhore National Park has been put on awaiting posting order (APO) and an alert has been issued on Sunday after cameras in the park captured two images of a tiger with a wire-like noose coiled around its neck.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Shruti Sharma has put Regional Forest Officer Anil Kumar Meena on APO. Upon the instructions of the senior forest officials, the tiger was tranquilised and the wire was removed following all the safety protocols on Saturday. No injury marks were found on the animal's body.

Two images from separate cameras showed the images of the tiger, T-108, with a wire tangled around its neck. The forest department officials have expressed concern over the matter and leaves of all the employees have been cancelled.

The forest officials have been instructed to closely monitor all the activities of Ranthambore National Park and also issued a statewide red alert against poaching and hunters in the area. All the territorial and wildlife divisions have been ordered to patrol in and around the forest reserve.

An inquiry was ordered into the matter and a report has been submitted to the higher authorities.

In 2018, two tigers were found dead in Ranthambhore National Park and it was suspected that they were poisoned to death. The number of tigers in the Reserve has also reduced drastically, thus raising concerns about the safety of the animal.
