Husband dies by suicide after wife forcefully feeds him beef in Surat

Rohit Singh, a resident of Surat's Udhana area, was working as a dyeing master in a textile mill, where he fell in love with a girl named Sonam. They got married and as Rohit's family was upset with their marriage, so they started living together.

Surat: A man committed suicide after he was fed beef by his wife in the Udhana area of Gujarat's Surat district. The alleged incident took place on June 27 when the man hanged himself at his residence. The police also found a suicide note on his Facebook in which he claimed that his wife, Sonam, and his brother-in-law, Akhtar Ali were torturing him and forcefully fed him beef.

The deceased has been identified as Rohit Singh. According to sources, Rohit Singh, a resident of Surat's Udhana area, was working as a dyeing master in a textile mill, where he fell in love with a girl named Sonam. They got married and as Rohit's family was upset with their marriage, so they started living together. One day, Sonam said that she will make him eat beef and Rohit got angry.

"Sonam and his brother Akhtar threatened to kill him if doesn't eat cow meat. The incident took place again and he was forced to eat beef. After that Rohit committed suicide by writing a suicide note and uploading it on Facebook. The incident came to light when Rohit's friend saw the suicide note on social media. Rohit's mother learned about his son's death after she got informed about the social media post. Rohit's mother has filed a complaint at Udhana Police Station," said ACP J.P Sonara.

After the incident, the police arrested the duo Sonam and Akhtar and started interrogating them. Police declined to share more further information due to the sensitivity of the case.
