मुंबई - भारताचे महान माजी धावपटू मिल्खा सिंह यांचे वयाच्या ९१ वर्षीं निधन झाले. 'फ्लाईंग सिख' अशी ओळख असलेले मिल्खा सिंह यांची कोरोनाची चाचणी निगेटिव्ह आल्यानंतर त्यांना बुधवारी जनरल आयसीयूत ठेवण्यात आले होते. अचानक ताप आल्यानंतर त्यांची प्रकृती खालावली आणि त्यांनी मोहालीतील एका रुग्णालयात अखेरचा श्वास घेतला. मिल्खा सिंह यांच्या निधनावर सचिन तेंडुलकर समवेत क्रीडा जगतातील मान्यवरांनी श्रद्धांजली वाहिली आहे.
सचिन तेंडुलकरने ट्विट करत म्हटलं की, 'आपले फ्लाईंग सिख मिल्खा सिंह यांच्या आत्मास शांती लाभो. त्यांच्या निधनाने आज प्रत्येक भारतीयांचे हृदय रिकामं झालं आहे. पण येणाऱ्या अनेक पिढ्यांना तुम्ही प्रेरणा राहाल.'
