മധുര: മധുരയിലെ രാംനാഥില്‍ 19 വര്‍ഷമായി പൊതു ശൗച്യാലയത്തില്‍ ദുരിത ജീവിതം നയിക്കുകയാണ് 65 കാരിയായ കറുപ്പായി. മുതിര്‍ന്ന പൗരന്മാര്‍ക്കുള്ള പെന്‍ഷനു വേണ്ടി പലതവണ കലക്ടര്‍ ഓഫീസില്‍ കയറിയിറങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും ഫലമുണ്ടായില്ലെന്നും കറുപ്പായി പറയുന്നു. ശൗച്യാലയം വൃത്തിയാക്കുന്നതില്‍ നിന്നും ദിവസം 70-80 രൂപയാണ് കിട്ടുന്നത്, അതാണ് ഏക വരുമാന മാര്‍ഗവും. ഒരു മകളുണ്ടെങ്കിലും തന്നെ കാണാന്‍ പോലും വരാറില്ലെന്നും കറുപ്പായി പറയുന്നു.

Karuppayi: I applied for senior citizen pension but didn't get it. I approached many officers in Collector's office but nothing materialised. I don't have any other source of income. So I live here in this public toilet. I earn Rs 70-80/day. I've one daughter who never visits me
