Jharkhand government has said it would not allow Patanjali's "corona kit" in the state unless and until it gets required certification from the central government.

Ranchi: Jharkhand government has banned Patanjali's Coronil tablet, which Yoga Guru Ramdev claimed was a cure for Covid-19, saying it would not be allowed in the state unless and until authorities concerned do not give their go ahead to the drug.

"We are following all guidelines issued by the centre in connection with coronavirus. It was up to the central government to certify or otherwise the drug. We would not even allow it to be tested on COVID-19 patients from Jharkhand," said the state health minister Banna Gupta.

The total number of confirmed cases in the state stood at 2,294 on Friday. The state now has 635 active cases as 12 people have died and 1,647 patients recovered of Covid-19 and discharged from hospitals.
