Kashmir: A top commander of the militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has been killed in an ongoing encounter between militants and security forces at the Tilwani Mohalla in the Tral area of Awantipora on Wednesday.
The slain militant has been identified as Sham Sofi.

The encounter began after joint forces received inputs about the presence of militants. As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where militants were hiding they came under heavy firing leading to an encounter.
Meanwhile, the search and cordon operation in the area is underway.
Earlier, three militants of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) - The Resistance Front (TRF) have been neutralised in an encounter with security forces in Shopian on Tuesday.
