Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended Panchkula CBI Special Court Judge Sudhir Parmar, whose residence was raided by the Haryana anti-corruption bureau on Apr. 18, sources said. In place of Sudhir Parmar, Additional Sessions Judge, Gurugram, Rajeev Goyal has been given additional charge as the judge of the special CBI court in Panchkula by the High Court.
Sources said that the Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued orders for the suspension of Sudhir Parmar after getting permission from the Supreme Court in this regard. It can be recalled that Parmar's residence in Panchkula raided by a team of Haryana anti-corruption bureau. Parmar was also questioned by a team of ACB following a purported audio recording establishing to corruption.

Besides Parmar, some of his relatives in Gurugram and a real estate developer were also questioned by the ACB in the case. The Haryana ACB had submitted the report of the raid to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which after studying the report recommended Parmar's suspension. Parmar was posted as special CBI judge in Nov 2021.
Besides CBI cases of Haryana, Parmar was also adjudicating Enforcement Directorate cases in the state and was holding state’s designated courts for CBI and ED cases. Significantly, Parmar, in his capacity as the CBI judge was presiding over the trial of former Haryana chief minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, many former IAS officers and real estate developers in land scam and AJL cases.
It is significant to mention here that the CBI had in Jan. 2019 registered a case against Hooda, an official and 15 real estate developers in a land scam case.
