Crime Branch to file chargesheet in Rahul Solanki murder case

Crime Branch of Delhi Police, which has been probing the Rahul Solanki murder case, is to file chrgesheet on Saturday. The police has been filing chargesheets one after the other in various cases as most coronavirus-related restrictions have been lifted.

New Delhi: Crime Branch of Delhi Police is expected to file chargesheet in the murder case of 26-year-old Rahul Solanki, who was shot dead by unidentified people in northeast Delhi's Shiv Vihar during riots in February last.

The Crime Branch has been investigating the case and on the basis of eyewitnesses and phone call details, seven people have been arrested in the case.

Solanki was pursuing LLB from a private college in Ghaziabad and he was shot at on February 24 when he had stepped out to buy milk. He was declared dead by doctors at GTB hospital in the city.

Total 53 people were killed and over 200 injured in the communal riots in northeast Delhi, triggered by clashes between anti and pro Citizenship (Amendment) Act groups.
