Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh): Hardships and hurdles were many before a studious 12-year-old boy from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh in reaching school. Manish Yadav, the fifth standard student who lives in Jarga village of Belgahna, 70km from Bilaspur, however, found a unique way to overcome the absence of a motorable road from his home to school: he now rides a horse every day to reach the school 10kilometres away from his home.
People who watch Yadav riding a horse to school daily praises him for his passion for horse riding and studies. Yadav leaves home daily at 9 am and goes to the primary school in Belgahna and returns at 4pm. Yadav's father is an agriculturalist who also sells milk for a living.
Meanwhile, the villagers say that they reached out to the administration many times for the construction of the roads, however, it fell on deaf ears.
Yadav says that he enjoys the daily horse ride to school and then back home. Yadav's teachers believe that his passion for studies will definitely make him a successful person and will set an example.
There are many children who manage to go to school every day. However, during rainy rains, villagers, especially children, face a lot of problems while commuting. Most of the children miss school during the rainy season. All are not lucky like Yadav who has found a unique way to reach school every day - horse riding.
