Bihar Cricket League to kick off from March 21

On the lines of IPL, Bihar Cricket League (BCL) is set to kick off from March 21 where five franchise teams of the state will be participating.

Patna: The dates for the Bihar Cricket League (BCL) to be organized by the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), a unit of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), have been announced.

Many national and international cricketers will also participate in this cricket league, although these players will be in the role of mentors of their respective teams.

BCA president Rakesh Kumar Tiwari said that from March 21 to 27, the Bihar Cricket League will be held in which five franchise teams of Bihar will play.

The franchise partner of this league is Elite Sports Bangalore, which is headed by Bihar resident Nishant Dayal.

“This event will boost the confidence of the players of Bihar and they will also get a chance to emerge as players,” said Nishant Dayal, manager of franchise partner Elite Sports,

He said that in T20 Bihar Cricket League, five franchise teams of the state will clash on the lines of IPL. These teams will be Patna Pilots, Ara Avengers, Bhagalpur Bulls, Darbhanga Diamonds and Gaya Gladiators.

As many as 100 players will participate in the BCL. The auction of players will be done on February 27.

In this tournament, which will be played for seven days, 13 matches will be played. There will be 10 league matches, two semi-finals and one final. There will also be day and night matches. Its live telecast will be on a global sports channel.

Each team will have a mentor, who will be an international level cricketer. These include names like Venkatesh Prasad, Sanath Jayasuriya, Tilakaratne Dilshan, RP Singh and Denny Morrison.

Their presence will increase the enthusiasm of the players of Bihar and they will also get their guidance.

“All the matches will be played at the Urja Stadium, Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna. Players of all teams will be able to practice at Moin-ul-Haq stadium in Patna. Only players from Bihar and Jharkhand have been allowed to participate in the auction. Chris Gayle is also expected to come in the tournament.” said Kumar Arvind, BCA, Joint Secretary.
