On Tuesday, Sharath Kamal will have the chance to become the first Indian paddler ever to enter the quarterfinal in the Olympics.

Tokyo: On the fifth day of the ongoing Tokyo Olympics Indian shooters will begin their search for old, prolific form when they compete in mixed team events on Tuesday. If they perform as per their potential, India could win their second medal in Tokyo 2020 after Mirabai Chanu's silver. Apart from shooters, eyes will be on the Indian men's hockey team, paddler Sharath Kamal and men's doubles shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.

Indian men's team - Hockey

After a 7-1 drubbing in the hand of Australia on Sunday, the Indian men's hockey team will look to amend their performance against Spain on Tuesday in order to restore the parity of their campaign in the Olympics.

India so far have won one match against New Zealand 3-2 and stand at third place behind Spain and Japan. A win against Spain will come in handy for India before taking on Argentina and Japan.

Sharath Kamal - Table tennis

Among the four Indian paddlers, veteran Sharath Kamal is the only one who is still alive in the Olympic Games. Sharath Kamal will take on World No. 3 Long Ma of China. It will be a tough test for the Indian, who is ranked 32nd on the world rankings.

If he manages to surpass Long hurdle, Sharath Kamal will have the chance to become the first Indian paddler ever to enter the quarterfinal in the Olympics.

Shooting

Indian shooters' string of disappointing performances continues to hurt India at the biggest sporting spectacle. On Tuesday, eyes will be on the mixed teams whether they can heal the wound of defeats in individual events.

In 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Qualification Stage 2, Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary, Ashwini Singh Deswal and Abhishek Verma will join hands to make sure they reach the medal round. Similarly, in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Qualification Stage 1, Elavenil Valarivan, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Anjum Moudgil and Deepak Kumar will look to cut into Stage 2.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty - Badminton

The Indian men's doubles pair started their campaign on a finer note when they defeated Chinese Taipei's World No. 3 pair Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin 21-16, 16-21, 27-25. However, in their second Group A match they suffered a straight-game defeat to World No. 1 Indonesian pair Marcus Gideon Fernaldi and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.
