Kabul (Afghanistan): Taliban fighters took over security posts across Kabul on Monday after sweeping the city on Sunday night. The Taliban seized all of the military and governmental establishments and patrolled the city as thousands of Afghans are trying to flee the country.
The Taliban swept into Afghanistan's capital Sunday after the government collapsed and the embattled president joined an exodus of his fellow citizens and foreigners, signaling the end of a costly two-decade U.S. campaign to remake the country.
Taliban takes over security posts across Kabul
Heavily armed Taliban fighters fanned out across the capital and several were seen searching vehicles in Zambaq Square, an important zone leading to many Afghan government ministries and the presidential palace.
