Alwar market is one of the biggest in the country, wherein wheat, millets, chana, mustard are sold in huge quantities. However, this year due to rainfall and hailstone activity the wheat crop had deteriorated causing farmers to suffer a lot.

In a special conversation with ETV Bharat, the farmers said that as soon as the crop arrives, there is pressure on the farmer to repay the bore money and repay all the debts. Therefore, farmers cannot store the crop in their house. Only, those farmers who have a system of storing grains, keep stock of the produce. Coming to small farmers, they have to reach the market to sell the crop on an immediate basis.

It takes time to sell wheat at the government procurement centre and then get the money. It is only after all the documents are assessed, that the cheque will be received after several days. It is then that the money would be credited into the account of the farmer.
