Plea filed seeking clinical trial of Covid vaccine prepared from Ganga water

The Allahabad High Court on Thursday issued a notice to the Indian Council for Medical Research and the Ethics Committee of the Government of India on a petition seeking permission for the clinical trials of the Covid vaccine prepared from Ganga water.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): The Allahabad High Court on Thursday issued a notice to the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Ethics Committee of the Government of India on a petition which sought permission for the clinical trials of Covid vaccine prepared from Ganga water. A reply on the same has been sought from all the opposition including the Government of India within three weeks time. The order was given by a division bench of Acting Chief Justice MN Bhandari and Justice Rajendra Kumar on public interest litigation (PIL) filed by senior advocate Arun Kumar Gupta.

Gupta says that a team of doctors under the leadership of Professor Dr Vijay Nath Mishra, Department of Neurology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, has prepared a nozzle spray vaccine post research on Ganga water, adding that the formulation can provide relief to people ailing with Covid in just Rs 30. It is in this context that a report was prepared and sent to the Ethics Committee seeking permission for the clinical trials. However, no decision has been taken in this regard.

A doctor from BHU has claimed that Corona can be eradicated using viro phase therapy and that when all the vaccines available so far de-activate the Coronavirus, the proposed vaccine from Ganga water has the potency to eliminate it. Also, a team of BHU doctors have already sent a research proposal to ICMR and the Ministry of AYUSH seeking permission for clinical trials. However, the proposal was not considered. A proposal was also sent to the President, mentioning that Ganga water has the power to eliminate Coronavirus.

In the petition, it was also demanded that the Ministry of AYUSH and ICMR allow Dr VN Mishra's team to conduct clinical trials. And the vaccine prepared from Ganga water be tested by the National Institute of Virology, Pune. Also, the petitioner citing research carried out by British bacteriologist Anest Hawkins on Ganga water in the year 1896, said that the Ganges had a self-purifying quality, adding that his report was published in the British Medical General. These research papers have also been published in the magazines of many other countries.

It is also alleged that positive results were obtained when the product was experimented on about three hundred people and that an article has also been published in the Hindi International Journal of Microbiology on 19th March 20.
