Agartala: The Tripura government is putting enough impetus in order to ensure the justice delivery system is accessible for one and all and soon the state is going to have a national level Law University which shall pave way for research and quality enhancement of the practicing lawyers in the state as well as the aspiring students, Tripura Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Sunday.
Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Mohanpur sub-division court and civil judge (junior division), he said, “Tripura government is relentlessly working to make the legal system accessible for one and all. Our government is setting up courts in the left over subdivisions. We have started a lawyer's welfare fund and also started and also taken steps to set up a national-level law university in the state”.
“In Mohanpur, the government is acquiring land for the proposed Court. Courts are coming up in Jirania and Kumarghat. All these steps are being taken to ensure that people can access the justice delivery system at their doorsteps”, said Nath.
On Covid, he said, “all of us are going through a challenging time due to the Covid 19. Our primary duty is to check the spread of infection which demands strict adherence to the restrictions”.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura Akil Kureshi thanked the government of Tripura for setting up a Court in Mohanpur and hoped that construction of the proposed Court would begin soon. Meanwhile, Tripura High Court Justice Subhasish Talapatra, Justice Arindam Lodh, Justice SG Chattopadhyay, Advocate general Siddhartha Shabkar Dey and other higher officials of the law department attended the function.
