Panipat (Haryana): Following disclosures made by terrorists arrested in Jammu and Kashmir, security at Panipat oil refinery has been tightened.
The terrorists arrested revealed a major terror plot targeting the refinery in Panipat and the Ram temple in Ayodhya because of which security around the refinery has been tightened. Visitors are being allowed in only after thorough checking.
A day ahead of Independence Day, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir foiled a major terror plot and arrested four Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists in Jammu. One of them, Izhar Khan, has sent a video of Panipat refinery to Pakistan. Izhar is said to be a resident of Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, which is just 22 km away from Panipat.

The accused were planning to collect weapons dropped from a drone for JeM terrorists active in the Kashmir Valley. During interrogation, it was revealed that they wanted to attack Ram Janambhoomi and Panipat refinery.
The terrorists had planned to explode an IED in a vehicle August 15. At the behest of JeM, Izhar took a recce of the Panipat oil refinery and sent his videos to Pakistan.
