Blackbuck case: Salman's transfer petition hearing deferred for four weeks

The hearing on the transfer petition filed by actor Salman Khan in the famous blackbuck poaching case of Jodhpur could not proceed today. This hearing is to be held in the court of Justice Dr Pushpendra Singh Bhati. Salman's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat requested time for arguments in court. On which the court has given the next hearing date after four weeks while advancing the interim order.

Jodhpur: The hearing on the transfer petition filed by actor Salman Khan in the famous blackbuck poaching case of Jodhpur could not proceed today. This hearing is to be held in the court of Justice Dr Pushpendra Singh Bhati. Salman's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat requested time for arguments in court. On which the court has given the next hearing date after four weeks while advancing the interim order. The hearing on the three appeals that are going on in the trial court is currently stalled due to the interim stay of the High Court.

Advocate Hastimal Saraswat informed that in the transfer petition filed on behalf of Salman Khan, informed that in the blackbuck hunting case, three appeals are pending in the District and Sessions Court of Jodhpur district, all of them are related to this case.

What is the case

In the year 1998, the Bollywood film Hum Sath-Saath Hain was being shot in Jodhpur. It was the month of September-October. It is alleged that Salman Khan and other actors of the film hunted blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur. In this case, the Jodhpur High Court convicted Salman Khan. Co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre were acquitted. The hearing of other appeals related to the same case is going on in the Jodhpur High Court.
