Ahmedabad: US President Donald Trump on Monday asserted that relations with India hold a special place for his country, saying that America 'loves' and is 'loyal' to India. Addressing the 'Namaste Trump' event at the Motera Stadium here, Trump announced a Defence deal worth USD 3 billion with India.
Trump also thanked PM Modi for the warm reception given to the US first couple by Indian dignitaries. American President also complimented Prime Minister's journey from being a tea seller to becoming the Prime Minister of the world's largest democracy.

Trump announces Defence deals:
The US President has announced that the United States will seal defence deals worth USD 3 billion.
"As we continue to build our defence cooperation, the US looks forward to providing India with some of the best and most feared military equipment on the planet. We make the greatest weapons ever made. We make the best and we are dealing now with India", he said.
Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding delegation-level official talks on 25th February in New Delhi.
Trump on the rise of PM Modi:
The US president also heaped praises on Modi as he described him as an 'exceptional leader' who works day and night for India.
Trump said that people love Modi adding, "....but I'll tell you that he is very tough."
Modi is a 'living proof' of what an Indian can achieve with hard work as Trump referred to his humble background as a tea-seller, who had a landslide win in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Trump on Pakistan:
India, US committed to fighting terrorists and their ideology; that is why my govt is working with Pakistan to crack down on terror groups.
"Our relationship with Pakistan is a very good one. Thanks to these efforts we are beginning to see signs of big progress with Pakistan and we are hopeful for reduced tensions, greater stability and the future of harmony for all of the nations of South Asia", he said.
