India Takes Up Issue Of Domes Collapse With Pakistan, Few Parts Repaired

India has conveyed to Pakistan that the damage to the structures in the Kartarpur Sahib gurudwara has caused "great consternation" among the Sikh community. In the article, ETV Bharat reporter, Arshdeep Kaur has explained that India has taken up the issue of domes collapse of Kartarpur Sahib with Pakistan.

New Delhi: India has taken up with Pakistan the matter of collapse of domes of the Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara.

As per sources, India has conveyed to Islamabad that the damage to holy structures has caused great consternation among the Sikh community.

India also urged Pakistan to urgently rectify the damages done to the structures and asked government to understand the faith and devotion of the sikh community.

Reportedly, the thunderstorm in Pakistan caused temporary damage to eight newly constructed domes of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal on Friday.

Four domes were on minarets, two on museum and one each on Darshani Deori and Dewanistan, sources said.

The Gurdwara is closed from March 15 after the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Imran Khan on November 9,2019.

The pictures of damaged minarets were on social media and Pakistan’s Federal minister for Science and Technology said, “ Conveyed this to Noor Ul Haq Qadri sb, minister religious affairs wuth request for an enquiry”.

Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara is located in Pakistan's Narowal district across the river Ravi, about four kilometres from the Dera Baba Nanak shrine.

Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib is the final resting place of first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev. Guru Nanak Dev spent last years of his life in Kartarpur Sahib.

After the partition of country in 1947 the area was allocated to Pakistan.

In November 2018, Government of India announced to built corridor which allows pilgrims from India to visit Gurdwara.
